Which Amp Kit Do I Need?
What Amplifier Kit do I need to install my Car Audio System? This is question we here a lot at EOS Car Audio. When picking your Amp Kit you want to consider how many watts (rms) are your Amplifiers pushing. You also want take in consideration the number of Amplifiers you will be installing. Most Amp Kits come with the basics like: RCA Cables, Split Loom, and Wire Ties. Some Premium Amplifier Kits Like Tsunami Amp Kits, comes with the works i.e Distribution Blocks, ANL Fuse Holders, and Battery Terminals. Its always cheaper to purchase everything together in an Amp Kit rather then purchasing them separate. If your Amplifier is putting out 700 Watts or less you can with a 10 Gauge Amp Kit ( remember getting a lower gauge never hurts), this amp kit should be able to supply the power you need, without putting a strain on your Amplifier. For this set up with the 700 Watt Amplifier, you should also go with at least a 30 Watt Atc in-line fuse, to protect your system. Remember if you have distribution block, make sure you have the same Gauge thats going in, coming out to your Amplifier. If your Amplifier is 1500 watts rms, then you should go with a 8 Gauge Amp Kit. The 8 Gauge Amp Kit will be able to handle up to 1500 Watts, you also should use an ANL Fuse or at least a 60 amp ATC in line fuse for this set up. If your Amplifier is more then 1500 Watts, I would suggest going with a 4 Gauge Amp Kit no less. You also would want to have an ANL Fuse Holder and a AGU Distribution Block. Any system powering over 2100 watts would require an 1/0 Gauge Amplifier Kit, to get the best performance from your system.
